A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to maalaea small boat harbor.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2016, Act 124, Session Laws of Hawaii 2016 (Act 124), contains an appropriation for a capital improvement project at Maalaea small boat harbor on Maui.  However, this appropriation inadvertently made reference to "dredging", rather than the intended "pier improvements" project.

     Therefore, the purpose of this Act is to correct an inadvertent error in Act 124 and clarify that the funds appropriated for the capital improvement project at Maalaea small boat harbor are for plans, design, and construction for pier improvements, rather than dredging.

     SECTION 2.  Act 119, Session Laws of Hawaii, part IV, as amended by Act 124, Session Laws of Hawaii 2016, section 5, is amended by amending item H-11.03 to read as follows:

"11.03.     MAALAEA SMALL BOAT HARBOR, MAUI

            PLANS, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FOR [DREDGING.] PIER IMPROVEMENTS.

     SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
