RELATING TO FIREARMS.

Prohibits a person listed in the federal Terrorist Screening Database from owning, possessing, or controlling a firearm or ammunition.  Requires surrender or disposal of firearms and ammunition.  Establishes a class C felony for a violation.

RELATING TO THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS WHILE CONSUMING OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN INTOXICANT.

Prohibits the physical possession of any firearm while consuming or under the influence of an intoxicant.

Prohibits deferred acceptance of a guilty or no contest plea where the defendant has been charged with committing an offense against a family or household member.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTIONS.

Expands authority of the Director of Transportation over required motor vehicle and motor carrier vehicle inspections in the State.

RELATING TO THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY.

Clarifies that acceptance by the Territorial Legislature or the Legislature of a dedication of land in the Kakaako Community Development District by a private owner is sufficient to convey title to the State.  (HB2604 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

Requires the Hawaii Community Development Authority to prohibit or restrict the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on sidewalks on private streets in the Kakaako Community Development District.  (HB2092 HD1)

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.  Those wishing to provide oral testimony will be limited to two minutes.
