RELATING TO THE CODE OF ETHICS.

Clarifies the fair treatment law by separating out certain limitations placed on task force members from those placed on legislators.  Makes clear that legislators are not prohibited from making statements or taking action in the exercise of their legislative functions.  (HB813 HD3)

RELATING TO ATTORNEYS.

Establishes that there is no requirement for an attorney to join any association or organization of lawyers to maintain a law license in this State.  Authorizes a disciplinary body authorized by the supreme court, rather than a bar association, and maintain actions for the unauthorized practice of law.

RELATING TO ATTORNEYS.

Establishes that there shall not be any requirement for an attorney to join an association or organization of lawyers to maintain a law license to practice in the State.

PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION REGARDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Proposes a constitutional amendment to provide that the right to freedom of speech does not include the expenditure of money to influence elections.
