RELATING TO UNIVERSAL CHILDREN'S SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.

Creates a universal children's savings account program in the department of budget and finance to promote financial education, investment, and savings to assist children with purchasing a home, or starting a business, or obtaining higher education. Establishes and appropriates funds into the universal children's savings and investment account trust fund. Effective 7/1/2017. (Proposed SD1)

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO YOUTH TRANSITIONING FROM FOSTER CARE.

Extends the application deadline for financial assistance for higher education available to foster or former foster youth, clarifies that financial assistance is for related higher education costs, and clarifies eligibility and program requirements of the Young Adult Voluntary Foster Care Program.
