RELATING TO TEACHER LEADERS. Requires the Department of Education to provide a bonus of $2,500 to teachers who meet all of the requirements to add the teacher leader field to their existing teaching license. (HB1228 HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION. Establishes within DOE the youth civil defense corps. Requires BOE to adopt standards and curriculum for student participation.

RELATING TO ENERGY. Requires DOE to: (1) Establish a goal of becoming net-zero with respect to energy use by January 1, 2035; (2) Establish microgrid pilot projects at public schools that also serve as emergency shelters; and (3) Expedite the cooling of all public school classrooms. Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds and the use of funds from the Green Infrastructure Loan Program to implement cooling measures in public school classrooms. (HB2569 HD1) |

RELATING TO VOCATIONAL TRAINING. Requires the department of education to establish a student repair and maintenance program at selected public high schools. Makes an appropriation.
