     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 2262, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE HIGH TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION,"

The purpose of this measure is to support development of the manufacturing industry in the State by appropriating funds for the continuation of the Manufacturing Grant Program within the High Technology Development Corporation.

Yamada Distributors; Diamond Bakery Co., Ltd; Ko Bakery Kauai; Island Maid, Inc.; Studio Kinection, Inc.; Pac Build; Manini Holdings LLC; Hawaii Kai Technologies LLC; LHX Industries LLC dba Grant Writing & Consulting; Paradise Meadows; O Ka Aina Fuel, LLC; Hawaii Coffee Company; Kauai Coffee Company, LLC; Hawaiian Candies & Nuts, Ltd.; Haute Confectionery Boutique; and several individuals testified in support of this measure.  Hawaii-Solutions opposed this measure.  Two individuals commented on this measure.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 2262, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
