A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to government employees.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The department of human resources development, department of education, the University of Hawaii system, the Hawaii health systems corporation, and the judiciary shall each file an annual report to the legislature on personnel vacancies.  The annual report on personnel vacancies shall be filed with the legislature by each entity no later than December 31 of each year.

     The annual report on personnel vacancies shall include the following information:

     (1)  Identification of any vacant positions that existed during the calendar year through September 30;

     (2)  The means of funding for each vacant position; and

     (3)  The duration of each vacancy.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
