A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the department of business, economic development, and tourism.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 201, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§201- Inter-agency agreements; memoranda of agreement; memoranda of understanding. (a) The department of business, economic development, and tourism may develop, and any state agency, may enter into, and implement inter-agency agreements to coordinate resources, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and effectuate the purposes of their respective chapter, without entering into a memorandum of agreement or memorandum of understanding.
(b) In addition to any other terms or conditions required by law, any inter-agency agreement between the authority and state agency, office, department, or other administrative subdivision shall contain the following:
(1) A termination date;
(2) A statement of intent and purpose;
(3) Terms specifying the extent of the inter-agency agreement's applicability; and
(4) Terms under which the inter-agency agreement may be modified or extended."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
