A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to pharmacy benefit managers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 431R, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§431R-   Pharmacy benefit managers; registration. Each pharmacy benefit manager shall register with the department of commerce and consumer affairs and renew their registration each year.  To register under this section, a pharmacy benefit manager shall:

(1) Submit an application to the department on a form prescribed by the department of commerce and consumer affairs; and

(2) Pay a registration fee of $500.

To renew a registration under this section, a pharmacy benefit manager shall pay a renewal fee of $500."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
