A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the eighteenth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2016-2017:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant restrooms for public meeting attendees.

B. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of an extension to the administrative building for additional meeting space

C. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for an electrical system upgrade and air conditioning installation in all classrooms.

Design and construction of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant public restrooms.

E. Hahaione elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of new roofs on the school library and buildings A and B.

Design and construction for air conditioning installation in all classrooms and a stand-alone photovoltaic system for electrical power.

Design and construction of a visual and performing arts complex comprised of an auditorium, film and broadcast center, art gallery, learning classrooms, and stage set workshops.

Design and construction to renovate and expand the athletic field press box to provide a sufficient and safe work area for additional personnel and equipment related to television broadcasts.

Design and construction of improved lighting for all sidewalks and the parking lot.

L. Niu Valley middle school, Oahu
Design and construction to expand the building with the four world language classrooms previously approved to include a faculty center, restrooms, and storage and utility rooms.

M. Wilson elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of an Americans with Disabilities Act compliant walkway with a protective wall or fencing so students can safely enter and leave school grounds and avoid using cafeteria stairs or the department of education Honolulu District parking lot which eliminated the original main entrance to school.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
