A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE DISABILITY COMPENSATION DIVISION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 for the department of labor and industrial relations to hire the following full-time equivalent ( .0 FTE) hearings officer positions and support staff within the department of labor and industrial relations' disability compensation division:
(1) professional employer organization specialist;
(2) vocational rehabilitation specialist;
(3) disability compensation enforcement specialists, provided that enforcement specialist each shall be assigned to Kauai and Kona on the island of Hawaii;
(4) auditor; and
(5) hearings officer to be assigned to Kona on the island of Hawaii,
and to provide the officers and staff with legal and medical training.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on January 7, 2059.
