A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to electric vehicles.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Act 168, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, is amended by amending section 4 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval and shall be repealed [on June 30, 2020.] upon a determination by the department of transportation that electric vehicles account for twenty-five per cent of all of registered passenger vehicles in the State; provided that the department of transportation shall provide notice to the public pursuant to section 1-28.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, of the specific date of its determination."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
