A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the public utilities commission.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 269-106, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:
"(b) Credits for excess electricity from
the eligible customer-generator that remain unused after each twelve-month
reconciliation period may not be carried over to the next twelve-month period[.],
but shall be placed in a reserve fund established by the public utilities commission
to offset the electricity bills of consumers who can verify that they receive public
assistance from the department of human services."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
