A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWELFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $5,250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2015-2016 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects for the twelfth representative district, as follows:

     1.   Makawao elementary school, Maui

Design and construction of covered play court.

                   Total funding                  $ 2,000,000

     2.   Pukalani elementary school, Maui

Design, construction, and equipment for landscaping.

                   Total funding                  $   250,000

     3.   King Kekaulike high school, Maui

Football field additional moneys.

                   Total funding                  $ 1,000,000

     4.   Kula elementary school, Maui

Water filtration system.

                   Total funding                  $ 1,000,000

     5.   Kalama intermediate school, Maui

Repair and maintenance.

                   Total funding                  $ 1,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
