Status

RELATING TO WILDLIFE.

Authorizes BLNR to enter into memoranda of understanding, agreement, or mutual aid compact with other states and jurisdictions for the mutual enforcement of hunting, fishing, and other wildlife laws, including the wildlife violators compact.  Requires BLNR to enter into the wildlife violators compact and adopt necessary rules.

Status

RELATING TO HUNTING.

Prohibits any net reduction of public hunting area on each island.  Requires the DLNR to make comparable land available for hunting upon making land unavailable for hunting.  Requires the DLNR to submit an annual report.  Effective 12/01/2014.

RELATING TO OUTDOOR HERITAGE MONTH.

Designates September as "Outdoor Heritage Month" to celebrate Hawaii's natural environment and recreational activities.

RELATING TO HUNTING.

Requires the DLNR to issue Hawaii hunting participant permits authorizing children to hunt under direct supervision.  Effective 07/01/2014.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony no later than 6:00pm the night prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

 

Submit testimony in ONE of the following ways:

PAPER:  10 copies (including an original) to Room 328 in the State Capitol; or

WEB:      For testimony less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
