Per the Chair's announcement at the Judiciary and Labor Hearing on March 19, 2014, the hearing for these measures was deferred due to time constraints. The committee will meet on Thursday, March 20, 2014 to hear the following bills:
RELATING TO SEXUAL ASSAULT. Removes the statute of limitations for criminal actions arising from sexual assault in the first and second degrees and continuous sexual assault of a minor under the age of fourteen years, and for civil actions against the perpetrator of sexual assault in the first and second degrees and continuous sexual abuse of a minor under the age of fourteen years. Effective July 1, 2050. (HB2034 HD2)

RELATING TO SENTENCING FOR JUVENILE OFFENDERS. Eliminates sentences of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for juvenile offenders. Effective July 1, 2050. (HB2116 HD2)

RELATING TO CRIME. Removes the probation option for sentencing upon conviction of Habitual Property Crime. (HB2205 HD1)
