RELATING TO PUBLIC HOUSING.

Requires the Hawaii public housing authority to designate a resident manager at each federal public housing complex and state low-income public housing project.  Effective 7/1/2015.

RELATING TO HOUSING.

Amends the conveyance tax percentage amount paid into the rental housing trust fund and makes an appropriation to and out of the fund for an increase in affordable rental housing units.  Effective July 1, 2020.  (HB2059 HD1)

RELATING TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON HAWAIIAN HOME LANDS.

Extends sunset date of requirement that counties issue affordable housing credits for each residential unit developed by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.  (HB2286 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO CERTIFICATION OF GAS TANKLESS WATER HEATERS.

Requires certification of gas tankless on-demand water heaters from a North American certification organization to include the Canadian Standards Association International; the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute; or the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association Certification Program, which list certified products and models.  Effective July 1, 2014.

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Establishes provisions for condominium association annual meetings and quorum requirements.  Provides that condominium associations may call for the review and discharge of a managing agent hired by the association upon a majority vote by the association members present.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY.

Establishes an income tax credit for proposed projects to be located in areas that are location efficient.  Establishes procedures for the HHFDC to determine whether proposed projects meet certain requirements necessary to qualify for the tax credit.  Requires the HHFDC to report annually to the legislature.  Sunset 1/1/2018.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
