Requires the State to pay interest on late payments to an operator of an adult day care facility, community care foster family home, or adult residential care home.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (HB1693 HD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE.

Amends the state supplemental payment amounts for specified types of adult residential care homes and provides for annual adjustment.  Changes the public assistance allowance to an unspecified percentage of the current federal poverty level.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (HB1695 HD1)

RELATING TO LANGUAGE ACCESS.

Amends the appropriations provided in Act 217, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013, for fiscal year 2014-2015 for establishment of the statewide language access resource center and establishment of the multilingual website pilot project administered by the Office of Language Access.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (HB1740 HD1)

RELATING TO THE NURSING FACILITY SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM.

Continues the Nursing Facility Sustainability Program by extending the sunset date of the Act to June 30, 2015, updating the referral dates in the statute, and appropriating funds from the Nursing Facility Sustainability Program Special Fund for fiscal year 2014-2015.  Effective July 1, 2030.  (HB2294 HD1)

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO PUBLIC HOUSING.

Prohibits smoking anywhere in a public housing project except a designated smoking area as a condition of any agreement for the occupancy or use of premises within a public housing project. Designated smoking areas, if any, must be located not less than 25 feet from any building.  Authorizes the Hawaii Public Housing Authority to adopt rules to implement the smoking ban and the designated smoking areas.
