RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT.

Requires that all child support payments go directly to an adult child if the adult child is presently enrolled as a full-time student in, or has been accepted into and plans to attend as a full-time student for the next semester, a post-high school university, college, or vocational school.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO FAILURE TO REPORT A MISSING CHILD.

Establishes penalties for caregivers who fail to report the death or disappearance of a child to law enforcement or who provide false information to law enforcement authorities.

RELATING TO FOSTER CARE.

Increases the minimum monthly foster care basic board rate and foster care maximum difficulty of care rate.  Requires Department of Human Services to report to the Legislature prior to 2015 Regular Session on implementation and cost.  Appropriates funds.  Effective July 1, 2014.

RELATING TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS.

Allows qualified entities to conduct state and national fingerprint-based criminal history record checks on their applicants, employees, and volunteers who provide care for children, vulnerable adults, or the disabled, and to receive the results directly.
