RELATING TO AGING.

Appropriates general funds to provide ongoing financial support to healthy aging programs and services.  Requires the Executive Office on Aging to conduct a public education and awareness campaign on long-term care and appropriates general funds for its support and evaluation.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.

Addresses climate change adaptation by tasking the Interagency Climate Adaptation Committee under the Department of Land and Natural Resources with creating sea level rise vulnerability and adaptation reports.  Tasks the Office of Planning with establishing and implementing strategic climate adaptation plans and policy recommendations based on the report.  Appropriates funds for staffing and resources.

Status

RELATING TO THE MODERNIZATION OF THE HAWAII ELECTRIC SYSTEM.

Amends the public utilities commission principles regarding the modernization of the electric grid.  Requires the commission to initiate a proceeding no later than July 1, 2014, to discuss upgrades to the Hawaii electric system for anticipated growth of customer generation.  Appropriates funds to cover costs of the proceeding.  Effective July 1, 2050.

Status

RELATING TO HUNTING.

Prohibits DLNR from reducing the net acreage of public hunting area on each island.  Requires the BLNR to make comparable state land available for hunting upon the loss of land within a public hunting area.  Requires the DLNR to submit an annual report.  Effective December 1, 2014.
