Status

RELATING TO TIRE RETAILERS.

Expands the definition of tire retailer to include individuals who sell or offer to sell tires on the Internet.  Requires Internet tire retailers to post a written notice regarding motor vehicle tire disposal and recycling on the webpage initiating or offering the sale.

Status

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST COMMUNITIES WITH THE REMOVAL OF MOTOR VEHICLE TIRES.

Appropriates funds to assist communities affected by discarded or abandoned tires by providing funds for the administration of contracts to remove abandoned tires from the landscape.

Status

RELATING TO THE DEPOSIT BEVERAGE CONTAINER PROGRAM.

Requires the lieutenant governor to establish a transition plan to transfer the deposit beverage container program to the counties.  Authorizes the lieutenant governor to hire consultants to assist in developing the plan.  Appropriates funds for FY 2014-2015 for the lieutenant governor to establish the plan.

Status

RELATING TO THE DEPOSIT BEVERAGE CONTAINER PROGRAM.

Requires large businesses that sell deposit beverage containers to serve as redemption sites for the deposit beverage container program.

Status

RELATING TO DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS.

Requires restaurants or food establishments to provide consumers with the option of using compostable or reusable disposable food service containers.  Requires signs to be posted informing consumers that such containers are available.  Establishes penalties for violations.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO ENERGY STORAGE.

Authorizes an individual or corporate tax payer to claim a tax credit against the Hawaii State individual or corporate net income tax for each grid-connected energy storage property that is installed and placed in service in the State by the taxpayer during the taxable year after December 31, 2014.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO ENERGY STORAGE.

Requires the public utilities commission to establish energy storage portfolio standards.  Requires reports by the Public Utilities Commission.

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
