     Your Committee on Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 84 entitled:

 

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE STATE AND STATE ENTITIES TO SUPPORT THE HOKULE‘A AND HER CREW AS THEY JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to urge the State and state entities to support the Hokulea and her crew as they journey around the world, visiting 26 countries and 85 ports, to raise awareness of the importance of ocean protection for the survival of life on Earth.

 

     The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, and an individual provided testimony in support of this measure.  An individual provided comments.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 84 and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Veterans, Military, & International Affairs, & Culture and the Arts.
