Sir:

     Your Committee on Judiciary, to which was referred H.B. No. 1635 entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to:

     (1)  Adjust the salary of the administrative director of the courts to be equal to the salary of the administrative director of the State; and

(2)  Adjust the salary of the deputy administrative director of the courts to be 95 percent of the salary of the administrative director of the State.

The State of Hawaii Judiciary testified in support of this measure.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1635 and recommends that it pass Second Reading and be referred to the Committee on Finance.
