HOUSE RESOLUTION
congratulating the pearl city high school chargers boys varsity wrestling team for winning the 2014 chevron-hawaii high school athletic association State wrestling championship.
WHEREAS, athletics has offered Hawaii's youth countless rewarding, challenging, and enjoyable opportunities to apply their physical and mental skills to competitive sports, and the House of Representatives is proud to recognize the achievements of conscientious, energetic, and talented individuals who epitomize the best of Hawaii's young athletes; and
WHEREAS, through hard work, commitment, and discipline the PEARL CITY HIGH SCHOOL CHARGERS BOYS VARSITY WRESTLING TEAM overcame tremendous odds to win the 2014 Chevron-Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Championship; and
WHEREAS, in its 43-year history, this is Pearl City High School's first state boys wrestling team championship; and
WHEREAS, additionally, this is the first time in seven years that an Oahu Interscholastic Association member school won a state boys wrestling team championship; and
WHEREAS, these superb accomplishments of the PEARL CITY HIGH SCHOOL CHARGERS BOYS VARSITY WRESTLING TEAM are attributed to the outstanding athletic abilities and strong work ethic of the wrestlers, whose countless hours of practice and discipline contributed to the dedicated efforts of the entire team; and
WHEREAS, the PEARL CITY HIGH SCHOOL CHARGERS BOYS VARSITY WRESTLING TEAM serves as an inspiration to the young people of Hawaii, and with their dedication and determination, these young men captured a Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Championship; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-seventh Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2014, that this body hereby congratulates the Pearl City High School Chargers Boys Varsity Wrestling Team for winning the 2014 Chevron-Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Championship, honors and commends the wrestlers for their accomplishments as athletic standouts, and extends to the team, coaches, and staff its best wishes for another successful season.
