A BILL FOR AN ACT

Making an appropriation for the native hawaiian center of excellence.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $700,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2013-2014 for the Native Hawaiian center of excellence to improve the health of Native Hawaiians through education, research, and community initiatives that enable Native Hawaiians to successfully pursue careers in medicine and other health professions.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the university of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
