A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE TWELFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $7,700,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2014-2015 for the following capital improvement projects for the twelfth representative district:

     1.   Kula elementary school

     Design, construction, and equipment for electrical upgrades.

                   Total funding                   $ 1,000,000

     2.   King Kekaulike high school

     Replacement of stadium light fixtures.

                   Total funding                  $   500,000

     3.   King Kekaulike high school

     Design, construction, and equipment for track and field upgrades.

                   Total funding                  $ 3,500,000

     4.   King Kekaulike high school

     Design, construction, and equipment for parking lot upgrades.

                   Total funding                  $   100,000

     5.   Makawao elementary school

     Design, construction, and equipment for two portable classrooms at $500,000 each.

                   Total funding                  $ 1,000,000

     6.   Kalama intermediate school

     Design, construction, and equipment for an outdoor covered play court.

                   Total funding                  $ 1,500,000

     7.   Pukalani elementary school

     Design, construction, and equipment for landscaping.

                   Total funding                  $   100,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2016, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2014.
