A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE twenty-ninth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $27,795,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2014-2015 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-ninth representative district, as follows:

1.   To be expended by the department of budget and finance:

     Bishop museum

     Deferred maintenance projects including repaving parking lots; upgrade to fire/safety projects.

2.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Central middle school

     Repave and resurface parking lot in the Kukui parking, administration parking lot, and Queen Emma parking.

     B.   Central middle school

     Repainting of all the buildings and structure of the school.

     I.   Likelike elementary school

     Leveling the playground (the yard adjacent to Palama street) and designing an effective drainage system for the playground.

3.   To be expended by the department of human services:

     A.   The Domestic Violence Action Center

4.   To be expended by the department of transportation:

     A.   Vineyard crosswalk

     Installation of a signalized crosswalk on Vineyard boulevard at River street.

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2016, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2014.
