A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to the capital improvement projects for the benefit of the fifty-first representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2013-2014.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Blanche Pope elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for school-wide electrical upgrades.
Total funding $465,000
B. Kailua elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for basketball court resurfacing.
Total funding $60,000
C. Kailua elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for lights for the parking lot.
Total funding $50,000
D. Kailua intermediate school, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for school-wide electrical upgrades.
Total funding $916,000
E. Kailua high school, Oahu
Plans and design for an auditorium.
Total funding $1,200,000
F. Kalaheo high school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a paddling dock and storage building.
Total funding $500,000
G. Lanikai elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a basketball court covering.
Total funding $50,000
H. Waimanalo elementary and intermediate school, Oahu
Plans and design for a science, technology, and media building and site improvements.
Total funding $400,000
2. To be expended by the department of health:
A. Hamakua marsh and Kaelepulu and Kawainui streams, Oahu
Mangrove eradication from Hamakua marsh and Kaelepulu and Kawainui streams.
Total funding $800,000
3. To be expended by the department of hawaiian home lands:
A. Waimanalo, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a large vehicle baseyard to serve the Waimanalo community.
Total funding $100,000
4. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Kalanianaole highway, Oahu
Plans and design for highway beautification along Kalanianaole highway from Kanapuu drive to Old Kalanianaole road.
Total funding $200,000
B. Nakini street and Kalanianaole highway, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for crosswalk improvements at Nakini street and Kalanianaole highway.
Total funding $100,000
C. Pali highway, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a lighted crosswalk on Pali highway near the bus stop between Ulumanu drive and Hanale place.
Total funding $50,000
5. To be expended by the city and county of Honolulu:
A. Kalanianaole highway, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a bus stop on Kalanianaole Highway near the polo fields in Waimanalo.
Total funding $25,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
