RELATING TO SOCIAL MEDIA.

Prohibits employers from requiring employees and applicants for employment from disclosing personal account usernames or passwords.  Creates an exception for law enforcement agencies conducting background checks of applicants for employment.  (HB713 HD1)

Specifies the duty of the elections commission to provide oversight of the chief elections officer.

RELATING TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLES.

Establishes a temporary Emergency Response Vehicle Noise Task Force to determine the impact of the emergency response vehicle sirens in terms of excessive noise, the effect on public safety, and the relative effectiveness of the use of emergency lights instead of the use of sirens at night.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (HB90 HD1)

RELATING TO OPEN CONTAINERS OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS IN PUBLIC HOUSING.

Prohibits the possession or storage of an open container holding intoxicating liquor on any sidewalk or common area within any public housing project under the jurisdiction of the Hawaii public housing authority

RELATING TO NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS.

Adds a new section to clearly provide that directors of a nonprofit corporation shall have access to the books and records of the corporation to the extent reasonably related to their duties.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

WEB:     For testimony less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
