RELATING TO PRODUCTION OF RECORDS.

Clarifies the criminal process records law relating to the service of process issued by or in another state upon a Hawaii recipient by specifying upon whom the service of process may be made, the type of process applicable, and information that shall be provided.  Requires that the requesting state has a statute authorizing the production of records held by out-of-state persons or businesses.  (HB785 HD1)

RELATING TO PRODUCTION OF RECORDS.

Requires annual reports from the Native Hawaiian Roll Commission. Amends the definition of “qualified Native Hawaiian” to include individuals who meet certain expanded ancestry requirements. Establishes that the Native Hawaiian roll commission is responsible for including in the roll all individuals already registered as Hawaiians or Native Hawaiians through the office of Hawaiian affairs or the department of Hawaiian home lands. Repeals directive in Act 195, SLH 2011, to amend the Hawaiian Homes Commission act to effectuate the purposes of Act 195. (Proposed SD1)

RELATING TO GAMBLING OFFENSES.

Amends a definition in the gambling law to provide that gambling activities offered incident to the purchase of goods or services, or any entries, credits, or play points that extend or permit the privilege of playing a game of chance without charge, constitute gambling.  Effective July 1, 2030.  (HB343 HD2)

RELATING TO GAMBLING OFFENSES.

Amends a definition in the gambling law to provide that gambling activities offered incident to the purchase of goods or services, or any entries, credits, or play points that extend or permit the privilege of playing a game of chance without charge, constitute gambling. Excepts bona fide business game promotions from gambling. Effective July 1, 2013. (Proposed SD1)

Requires a legislator to file a disclosure of financial interests with the State Ethics Commission between January 1 and January 31 annually.  (HB1132 HD1)

RELATING TO COURT ADVISEMENT CONCERNING ALIEN STATUS.

Requires the court to advise a criminal defendant of the effects of a guilty or no contest plea on alien status in certain criminal proceedings.  Effective July 1, 2013.  (SD1)

RELATING TO COLLECTION OF RESTITUTION FOR CRIME VICTIMS.

Amends the definition of "victim" in the victim restitution law to include certain duly incorporated humane societies or duly incorporated societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals.  Effective September 24, 2021.  (HB235 HD1)
