RELATING TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII. Reestablish the governor's authority to nominate and, with the advice and consent of the senate, appoint the members of the board of regents of the University of Hawaii by repealing the candidate advisory council for the board of regents of the University of Hawaii; effective upon ratification of the constitutional amendment to article X, section 6, of the Hawaii Constitution, which would delete provisions related to the regents candidate advisory council.

PROPOSING A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE X, SECTION 6, OF THE HAWAII STATE CONSTITUTION TO MODIFY THE APPOINTMENT PROCESS FOR THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII. Proposes an amendment to article X, section 6, of the Hawaii State Constitution to modify the appointment process for the board of regents of the University of Hawaii; repeals reference to the candidate advisory council for the board of regents of the University of Hawaii.

RELATING TO THE REGENTS CANDIDATE ADVISORY COUNCIL. Amends section 304A-104.5, HRS, to give the governor the authority to reject the list of nominees to the board of regents of the University of Hawaii presented by the regents candidate advisory council and require the regents candidate advisory council to provide another list of nominees within sixty days.
