RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Authorizes the issuance of GO bonds to retire the debt incurred by the previous issuance of revenue bonds to fund the UH Manoa Campus Center renovation and addition project.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Repeals the authority of the University of Hawaii to issue revenue bonds.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII

Appropriates funds to SEED at the UOH to fund 5 graduate assistant and student employee (2.5 FTE) positions to conduct and disseminate research relating to Asian American and Pacific Islander students in higher education, and to provide direct services to undergraduate and graduate students interested in diversity careers relating to student affairs and higher education.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Appropriates funds to the University of Hawaii to pay student employees at new or expanded worksites and for the hiring of 3.0 FTE for the University of Hawaii vice chancellor for students for the coordination, recruitment, training, and compliance with system-wide procedures and student employment regulations.

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Appropriates funds to the Hawaii educational policy center to conduct research and policy analysis on education issues.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO NURSING.

Requires the professional and vocational licensing division of the department of commerce and consumer affairs and the state board of nursing to collaborate with the center for nursing to enable the center to obtain nursing-related data.  Requires the professional and vocational licensing division to provide the center for nursing with various information through a memorandum of understanding and requires completion of a center for nursing survey as part of the license renewal requirements under chapter 457, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
