MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE STATE CAPITOL REFLECTING POOLS.

Makes appropriation to design and construct the replacement of the waterproof membrane and create a natural filtration system for the reflecting pools at the state capitol building.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF PLANNING.

Temporarily transfers the office of planning from the department of business, economic development, and tourism to the office of the governor.  Requires the director of the office of planning to conduct an annual review of the office of planning.  Authorizes the office of planning to hire two temporary positions to be funded by the Honolulu authority for rapid transportation, if funds are available.

RELATING TO THE HAWAII COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

Limits the prohibition on the sale of Kakaako community development district lands by HCDA to Kakaako makai lands.  Requires the HCDA to determine the costs and benefits of selling and purchasing certain properties, except makai lands, within the Kakaako community development district and report to the legislature.

RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURES.

Requires any report of a study or an audit made by an executive department or agency, including the Hawaii health systems corporation, and by the legislative reference bureau, auditor, judiciary, or office of Hawaiian affairs, to be submitted to the clerk of each house, senate president, speaker of the house, chairs of the appropriate subject matter committee of each house, and the legislative reference bureau library.  Requires a public hearing or informational briefing, except if waived by the senate president or speaker of the house of representatives. Excludes certain routine reports.

RELATING TO NOTICE BY THE HAWAII COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

Clarifies notice requirements for Hawaii Community Development Authority public hearings.
