RELATING TO HAWAII FOOD RESILIENCY. Develops a food resiliency initiative to be guided by the Hawaii food resiliency task force. Effective 07/01/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE. Expands livestock feed subsidies to include milking goats, goats raised for meat, sheep, lambs, fish, and crustaceans. Appropriates funds. Effective 07/01/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE. Caps the livestock revitalization program grant per qualified producer per year at the lesser of a specified amount or a percentage of the cost of feed for production of poultry products, milk, or pigs and beef cattle raised and slaughtered in Hawaii for local consumption. Expands the livestock program to include subsidies for costs incurred in raising goats, sheep, fish, and crustaceans. Appropriates funds for the livestock revitalization program. Requires the livestock revitalization program to be funded through the agricultural development and food security special fund. Effective 07/01/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO HAWAII-GROWN PRODUCE. Establishes a Hawaii-grown produce working group to develop the parameters of and implement a demonstration model in which a state facility utilizes locally-grown produce for consumption. Makes an appropriation. Effective 07/01/2050. (SD2)

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony should indicate:

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
