A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to MENTAL health.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2013-2014 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2014-2015 as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for the Kahi Mohala behavioral health center to establish an adult psychiatric crisis unit that can provide services for up to eight patients who would otherwise be treated in emergency rooms; provided that no funds shall be appropriated unless funding from private sector organizations in the amount of at least $ is secured.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
