A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-fourth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2013-2014.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Lincoln elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for air conditioning for the two buildings in the master plan. Plans $25,000

B. Queen Kaahumanu elementary school, Oahu
Construction and equipment for existing covered walkway with a 90 ft. extended roof linking all buildings (classroom buildings, cafeteria, office/library).

C. Queen Kaahumanu elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of an operable partition to divide the cafeteria dining room into two venues along with a split air conditioning system (operating separately) for both sides.

D. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for renovation and expansion of the gymnasium.

Plans, design, and construction to renovate and expand the bandroom.

Plans, design, and construction for a multi-level parking structure.

G. Hālau Kū Māna public charter school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a safe walking path for the public – both residents and visitors – that stretches from the Board of Water Supply tank to the entrance of Makiki Valley State Park.

2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. New Makiki public library, Oahu
Plans for a site and feasibility study for the new Makiki Public Library. Study to include a project development report, facility assessment of the existing library, site selection study for a new library, site master planning, land appraisals, and cost and schedule estimates.

B. Papakolea Community Development Corporation, Oahu
Plans and design to support community-defined Community Based Economic Development (CBED) projects on the east-facing slope of Puowaina. Projects are defined in the Papakolea Regional Plan, approved by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands in December 2010.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
