A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the fourteenth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2013-2014:
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Kilauea school, Kauai
Construction for
design plan revisions and installation of approximately one thousand feet of twelve-inch
ductile iron waterline, beginning at the existing twelve-inch waterline along
Kuhio highway and continuing approximately four hundred fifty feet through
Pukalani place and extending along Kolo road approximately five hundred fifty
feet to the Kilauea school, then connecting to the existing eight-inch
waterline along Kolo road.
Construction $1,300,000
Total funding $1,300,000
2. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Kilauea elementary school, Kauai
Design and construction for renovation and conversion of interior of building B to enable its use as administrative offices.
Design $160,000
Construction $1,360,000
Total funding $1,520,000
3. To be expended by the department of health:
A. Mahelona hospital, Kauai
Master Plan and design for expansion of Mahelona Hospital on surrounding state lands in order to improve delivery of healthcare services and continuity of care while increasing accessibility.
Plans and design $500,000
Total funding $500,000
4. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Land acquisition purchase of allotments I and II (Carol Wilcox property), Kauai land acquisition purchase for Hanalei boat ramp.
Land acquisition $2,000,000
Total funding $2,000,000
B. Waikaea small boat launch; the "Lihi", Kauai
Construction for maintenance dredge, replacement, and repair of navigational aids and relocation of ramp to a natural channel in the canal.
Construction $2,000,000
Total funding $2,000,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
