Status

RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION.

Authorizes the Department of Transportation to extend the term of an airport concession, and to modify and amend the terms of any concession contracts, leases, and permits in exchange for revenue-enhancing improvements that are made or paid for by the concession.  Effective July 1, 2012.  Repeals July 1, 2014.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION.

Extends until 6/30/2015:  the increase in the rental motor vehicle surcharge tax to $7.50 per day; the deposit of $4.50 per day of the tax into the general fund; and the suspension of the rental motor vehicle customer facility charges.  Authorizes issuance of airport revenue bonds.  (SD2)

Status

RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE.

Prohibits driving a commercial motor vehicle without a commercial driver's license in the driver's possession.  Prohibits texting while operating a commercial motor vehicle and classifies a conviction of an offense of texting while operating a commercial motor vehicle as a serious traffic violation.  Does not apply to hands-free or voice operated technology.  Excludes from definition of electronic device a device that is physically or electronically integrated into the motor vehicle.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO VEHICLES.

Defines "vehicle" in HRS chapter 707.  Amends negligent injury offenses to include bodily injury to another person caused by the operation of a moped or vessel in a negligent manner.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
