The purpose of this informational briefing is to provide the Office of Community Services the opportunity to hold a public hearing to receive comments on the 2013-2014 State Plan and Application for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program in accordance with Public Law 105-285. The Community Services Block Grant provides over $3 million in funding for programs that coordinate infrastructure and provide direct services to the low-income and impoverished population. The plan will outline the uses of the funds for the upcoming Federal fiscal Biennium.
Providers of services for low-income persons and the general public are highly encouraged to attend. Written comments may also be submitted for those whom physical attendance is not possible. Comments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m., October 5, 2012. Comments may be submitted by email to the CSBG Program Administrator at En.h.Young@hawaii.gov, in writing to the Office of Community Services, 830 Punchbowl Street, Suite 420, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 or by fax to (808) 586-8685.
