RELATING TO LIABILITY INSURANCE. Requires care home operators to carry liability insurance to cover the operations of the care home. Exempts care home operators operating under a contract with either the Department of Health or Department of Human Services who are in compliance with the liability insurance coverage requirements under the contract. Effective January 7, 2059. (HB2776 HD2)

RELATING TO HOSPITALS. Establishes a hospital sustainability fee and special fund to receive moneys from the hospital sustainability fee to receive federal medicaid matching funds under the QUEST Expanded Medicaid Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver. Requires the Department of Human Services to charge and collect a provider fee on health care items or services provided by hospitals. Effective July 1, 2012, and repealed on June 30, 2013. Establishes a nursing facility sustainability fee and a special fund to receive moneys from the nursing facility sustainability fee to receive federal Medicaid matching funds under the QUEST Expanded Medicaid Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver. Requires the Department of Human Services to charge and collect a provider fee on health care items or services provided by nursing facilities. Effective July 1, 2030, and repealed on June 30, 2013.
