RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY. Provides eligible customer-generators with the option to maintain existing net metering contracts even if the public utilities commission establishes alternative mechanisms for crediting or otherwise compensating eligible customer-generators for exported power.

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY. Increases allowable maximum customer-generator capacity for net metered systems to two megawatts if the generating facility is sited on property owned or controlled by the State of Hawaii. Increases allowable maximum customer-generator capacity for net metered systems to one megawatt for all other systems.

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY. Requires the PUC to direct electric utilities to place special emphasis on utilizing renewable energy sources when crafting integrated resource plans.

RELATING TO SOLAR ENERGY. Allows owners of condominium units in condominium structures no more than three stories in height to place a solar energy device on the roof directly above the condominium unit, subject to conditions.

RELATING TO TAXATION. Repeals the sunset provision relating to the tax on naphtha fuel sold for use in a power-generating facility.

RELATING TO THE DEPOSIT BEVERAGE CONTAINER PROGRAM. Removes the exemption for dietary supplements from the deposit beverage container program.

RELATING TO STATE MARINE WATERS. Requires an applicant for a lease of state marine waters to submit an application containing an environmental impact statement for commercial leases or an environmental assessment for non-commercial leases.
