RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS FROM CHILD CARE LICENSING. Adds exemptions for any kindergarten, school, or program licensed by the charter school review panel, the Hawaii Council of Private Schools, or any federal agency and certain child care programs conducted by the counties from child care licensing by the department of human services. Effective July 1, 2013. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE HAWAII EARLY INTERVENTION COORDINATING COUNCIL. Changes the membership composition and functions of the Hawaii Early Intervention Coordinating Council to be consistent with part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 requirements regarding the state interagency coordinating council. Effective July 1, 2050. (SB2828 HD1)

RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES. Establishes the school facilities special fund. Requires that income generated by the public land development corporation from public school lands and facilities be deposited into the school facilities special fund for the purposes of new construction, upgrades, and retrofit and upgrade of public school facilities. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY. Places the Hawaii 3Ts school technology laboratories fund under the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism. Repeals section 302A-1314, Hawaii Revised Statutes. Requires the University of Hawaii to extend the current land lease with the high technology development corporation for no less than twenty-five years from the date of expiration of the existing lease. Effective July 1, 2112. (SB2528 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee the comments are directed to;
· The date and time of the hearing;
· Measure number; and
· The number of copies the Committee is requesting.
While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

WEB: For comments less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.
Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
