Due to the insertion of new material in HB2238 Relating to Motor Vehicles, a proposed HD1 has been placed on the agenda to conduct a public hearing and to accept public testimony. Please base your testimony on the contents of the proposed HD1 for HB2238. Copies of the proposed HD1 are available in Room 320 in the State Capitol and the Legislature's web site http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES. Prohibits manufacturer recovery of increased warranty reimbursement to dealers.

RELATING TO ELECTRIC VEHICLES. Authorizes a private entity that governs a multi-family residential dwelling or townhouse to assign specific parking stalls for placement of electric vehicle charging stations when parking stalls under the private entity's control are not assigned. (HB2799 HD1)

RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES. Requires the Public Utilities Commission, in exercising its authority and duties, to consider the costs and benefits of a diverse fossil fuel portfolio and of maximizing the efficiency of all electric utility assets to lower and stabilize the cost of electricity, without subverting the electric utilities' obligation to meet renewable portfolio standards. RELATING TO PROFESSIONS AND VOCATIONS. Clarifies the definition of "landscape architect". Replaces the existing definition of "surveyor" or "land surveyor" with definitions for "land surveying" and "professional surveyor", "professional land surveyor", or "land surveyor". Effective July 1, 2112. (HB2272 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee the comments are directed to;
· The date and time of the hearing;
· Measure number; and
· The number of copies the Committee is requesting.
While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
