HB 2526 was originally heard on Monday, January 30, 2012 and deferred for decision-making on Monday, February 6, 2012.  Due to the insertion of new material in the proposed house draft for HB 2526,  it has been placed on the agenda to conduct a public hearing and to accept public testimony.  Please base your testimony on the contents of the proposed HD1 for HB 2526Copies of the proposed HD1 are available in room 320 and the Legislature's Web site http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov

RELATING TO REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND CABLE TELEVISION PROVIDERS.

Requires reporting by telecommunications and cable television providers to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and provides confidentiality for certain information and reports submitted.

Corrected description:

Requires broadband providers to report availability and pricing on an address or TMK basis, instead of the current census block basis, to DCCA.   (HD1 Proposed)

RELATING TO SECURITIES.

Clarifies and corrects ambiguities and errors in Hawaii's securities laws.

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Requires owners of residential units who reside on a different island or out-of-state to provide the managing agent or resident manager of the condominium project with contact information of a rental agent located in the State who is responsible for the management of the unit.

RELATING TO LIQUOR.

Allows holders of Class 1 manufacturer liquor licenses to sell specified liquor manufactured from fruits or other products grown in the State to any person for private use and consumption.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.

Excludes benefits paid or incurred under the workers' compensation law from the covered loss deductible.  Effective January 1, 2013. (HB994 HD1)

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.

Increases the minimum insurance coverage requirement for bodily injury liability coverage to $50,000 for bodily injury or death to one person and $100,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons. (HB1688 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

WEB:      For comments less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
