A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§323-  Practice by advanced practice registered nurses. Each hospital in the State licensed under section 321-14.5 shall allow an advanced practice registered nurse recognized as such under section 457-8.5 or a qualified advanced practice registered nurse granted prescriptive authority under section 457-8.6 to practice within the full scope of the practice authorized under chapter 457, including the function of a primary care provider."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
