A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to child welfare.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to require the department of human services to comply with the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act of 2010, P.L. 111-320, to ensure Hawaii meets the requirements and conditions required to receive federal assistance as it relates to the grant program under the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act of 2010.
SECTION 2. Chapter 346, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§346- Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act. The department shall adopt and comply with the language and intent of the federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act of 2010, P.L. 111-230, including any amendments adopted after December 20, 2010."
SECTION 3. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
