A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the eighteenth senatorial district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2011-2012.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. August Ahrens elementary school, Oahu
Electrical upgrade of entire school
Construction $ 1,500,000
Design 300,000
Total funding $ 1,800,000
Air conditioning for entire school
Construction $ 3,500,000
Design 500,000
Total funding $ 4,000,000
B. Honowai elementary school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for electrical system improvements; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

C. Lehua elementary school, Oahu
Electrical upgrade to classrooms and to complete air conditioning installation for classrooms.

D. Manana elementary school, Oahu
Library renovation.

2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Friends of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park, Oahu
Construction for improvements at Hawaii's plantation village.

3. To be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations:
A. Waipahu United Church Of Christ, Oahu
Design and construction for community center improvements.
Construction $ 249,000
Design 1,000
Total funding $ 250,000
4. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Drying bed facilities, Oahu
Construction of drying bed facilities for the processing and disposal of highway debris collected by maintenance operations.
Construction $ 6,000,000
Total funding $ 6,000,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
