A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Making an appropriation for Matching grants for space education programming services.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $120,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 to be used by the department of education to award a matching grant for the provision of space education programming services at the Barbers Point elementary school on the island of Oahu; provided that any recipient of the matching grant shall provide a $8 match in fees, grants, private donations, or other fundraising sources for every $1 awarded by the department of education for the fiscal year 2011-2012.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $100,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 to be used by the department of education to award a matching grant for the provision of space education programming services at the Barbers Point elementary school on the island of Oahu; provided that any recipient of the matching grant shall provide a $20 match in fees, grants, private donations, or other fundraising sources for every $7 awarded by the department of education for the fiscal year 2012-2013.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
