A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO JUDICIARY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 612-27, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"§612-27 Rules. The supreme court
[is authorized to] may adopt, amend, and repeal the rules
of court, not inconsistent with the policies and objectives [set forth in]
of this chapter[, regulating] to regulate all aspects of
the selection and management of grand and trial jurors[, and] by
setting forth policies, procedures, and forms for the selection and management
of grand and trial jurors in [the] jury pools, [in] courtrooms,
and [in] other appropriate circumstances in furtherance of the
objectives of this chapter."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
