TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE, 2012
STATE OF HAWAII

HOUSE RESOLUTION

relating to the caucus leaders and the committee assignments of the house of representatives of the twenty-sixth legislature.

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2012, that this body acknowledge and recognize PONO CHONG as the Majority Leader who was duly elected by the majority caucus; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that PONO CHONG shall no longer be a Majority Whip, the Vice Chair of the Housing Committee, and a member of the Energy & Environmental Protection Committee, the Water, Land, & Ocean Resources Committee, and the Finance Committee; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body acknowledge and recognize SHARON E. HAR as a Majority Whip who was duly elected by the majority caucus; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that SHARON E. HAR shall remain as the Vice Chair of the Water, Land, & Ocean Resources Committee and a member of the Finance Committee, the Energy & Environmental Protection Committee, and the Housing Committee; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that TOM OKAMURA, who has been duly appointed and seated as a member of the House of Representatives from the Thirty-third Representative District to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Representative Blake K. Oshiro, shall be a member of the Labor & Public Employment Committee, the Public Safety & Military Affairs Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Education Committee, and the Higher Education Committee; and
     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that KEN ITO shall be the Vice Chair of the Housing Committee and remain a Majority Whip and a member of the Judiciary Committee, the Consumer Protection & Commerce Committee, the Energy & Environmental Protection Committee, and the Water, Land, & Ocean Resources Committee; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except as amended by H.R. No. 304 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, and this Resolution, all appointments and committee memberships of the House of Representatives as set forth in H.R. No. 6 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, shall remain in full force and effect, it being understood that the name of BLAKE K. OSHIRO, wherever the name appears in the aforementioned H.R. No. 6 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, is deleted.
